Zakura Proposes Zcash Fix for Potential Quantum Privacy Risk
Edited by Steinar Vigdel Kolnes, Editor, Oslo
Zcash developer Zakura has proposed a fix aimed at preventing future quantum computers from linking shielded swaps to a wallet’s payment history.

Zcash developer Zakura has proposed a change intended to address a potential quantum-computing threat to the privacy of shielded swaps, Decrypt reported.
According to Zakura, exposing just one Zcash address could allow a future attacker with quantum capabilities to connect all payments previously received by the associated wallet.
The proposal targets that potential link between a public address and historical payments. Zakura’s warning concerns a future quantum attack, rather than a reported breach.
