Semler Scientific Acquires 303 Bitcoins for $29.3 Million

Semler Scientific invests $29.3 million to acquire 303 Bitcoins, boosting total holdings to 1,873 BTC and showcasing strong BTC yield results.

Semler Scientific has announced recent updates regarding its Bitcoin investments and financial strategy. Between November 25 and December 4, 2024, the company acquired 303 Bitcoins for $29.3 million. These purchases were funded through its at-the-market (ATM) offering. The average price included all the expenses and the total fee was $96,779 per Bitcoin.

On December 4th, Semler Scientific held 1,873 BTC. The company invested an overall $147.1 million in these assets, with an average price of $78,553 per Bitcoin. This supports Semler’s ongoing strategy of acquiring Bitcoins.

Semler Scientific Expands Bitcoin Strategy, Posts High BTC Yield

The company’s BTC Yield also demonstrated high results as a yield figure. The BTC Yield from October 1 to December 4, 2024 was 54.7%. The yield for the period July 1 to December 4, 2024, was 78.7 percent. They have established the effectiveness of their strategy in this and have indicated good value for the investors.

The chairman of Semler Scientific, Eric Semler, described these figures as satisfactory. He noted that the company has also applied with options exchanges to get the green light to make options on its stock. Semler says that it does satisfy the criteria for eligibility set down by these exchanges.

BTC Yield is used by Semler Scientific as a measure of organizational performance. This serves to evaluate their operational strategy; they acquire Bitcoins using funds obtained from the issuance of shares. The KPI is also used to explain to investors the company’s reason for its bitcoin treasury strategy.

Likewise, MicroStrategy made an announcement of its latest acquisition. On the 4th of December 2024, the company purchased 15,400 BTC for approximately $ 1.5 billion. This purchase was done at an average of 95,976 dollars per bitcoin. MicroStrategy holds 402,100 Bitcoins at the moment which proves the company’s confidence in Bitcoin.

Lastly, Semler Scientific and MicroStrategy show the rising trend of institutional holdings of Bitcoin. This is in line with changes in how firms are beginning to evaluate digital assets in their capital planning processes. The shift toward Bitcoin as an investment strategy shows more trust and investment in the cryptosystem.
