Search teams located the Douglas DC-4 nearly 2,000 feet below the surface off Puerto Rico, 74 years after its 1952 ditching.
The wreckage of Pan American World Airways Flight 526A has been found off Puerto Rico, ending a 74-year wait to locate the aircraft following its ditching in 1952.
The Air/Sea Heritage Foundation and Deep Sea Vision located the plane on June 2, 2026. The teams used high-resolution sonar to identify the wreckage.
The Douglas DC-4, named Clipper Endeavor, rests at a depth of almost 2,000 feet, roughly five miles from Puerto Rico’s northern coastline, according to Bitcoin.com News.
