Zcash Developers Target January for Quantum-Resistant Public Payments
Zcash developers are aiming for quantum-resistant public payments in January, alongside a separate tool designed to make wallet balance checks more private.

Zcash developers have set a January target for quantum-resistant public payments, according to CoinDesk. The plan follows a scare described as “bunker mode.”
The proposed changes focus on public payments, a significant part of the network: roughly 70% of ZEC is held in that portion of the system.
A separate wallet tool would address privacy during balance checks. It is intended to prevent those checks from exposing links between addresses belonging to the same wallet.
