A Wall Street Journal investigation alleges Tether paid a consultancy partly owned by Bo Hines during his tenure as a senior White House crypto official.

Tether allegedly paid about $6.3 million to a consulting business in which Bo Hines held a partial ownership stake while serving as a senior White House cryptocurrency official, according to a Wall Street Journal investigation cited by Bitcoin.com News.
During his government tenure, Hines helped move forward the GENIUS Act, legislation carrying significant implications for the stablecoin issuer.
After leaving the White House, Hines became Tether’s U.S. chief executive. The reported payments concern his time in government, before that transition.
