Walmart and Eli Lilly Join Objections to OKX–ICE Tokenized Stock Plans

Five additional companies have opposed the OKX–ICE tokenized stock plans, taking the total to 38, as a competing Canton venue readies its launch.

Walmart and Eli Lilly are among five more companies opposing plans for tokenized stocks involving OKX and ICE, according to CoinDesk. The additions bring the number of objecting companies to 38.
The growing opposition comes as a rival trading venue on Canton prepares to launch. Its planned debut includes an issuer-sponsored stock under the SEC’s innovation exemption.
The developments highlight a contrast between the two efforts: the OKX–ICE plans face objections from companies, while the Canton venue is preparing an offering backed by a stock’s issuer.
