Thailand’s Supreme Court ruled that bitcoin qualifies as property and upheld a 10-year sentence for a man who assisted robbers, CoinDesk reported.

Thailand’s Supreme Court has determined that bitcoin is property in a ruling on a challenge to a theft conviction, according to CoinDesk.
The court based its decision on bitcoin’s market value, its ability to be exchanged for cash and the fact that members of the public can hold it.
The ruling left in place a 10-year prison sentence for a man who helped the robbers, rejecting his challenge to the conviction.
