A private-key generation flaw prompted technology companies to block eight eMudhra certificates that could be used to impersonate websites.

Technology companies are moving to block eight eMudhra certificates over a security flaw that could enable fake websites, Cointelegraph reported.
The issue involved private-key generation, which left the keys predictable. Anyone able to guess them could forge HTTPS certificates for any website.
Such forgeries could allow an impersonating site to appear to have a legitimate secure connection. The reported effort to block the affected certificates targets that risk.
