Succinct patched an SP1 vulnerability that could allow invalid proofs to pass native Rust verification in versions 6.0.0–6.8.0, The Defiant reported.

Succinct has fixed a bug in SP1 that could have caused its native Rust verification process to accept invalid proofs, according to The Defiant.
The vulnerability affected versions 6.0.0 through 6.8.0. The reported issue concerned proof verification through the native Rust implementation.
Onchain verification of Groth16 and Plonk proofs using Solidity verifiers was not affected, limiting the scope of the flaw to the identified verification path.
