Starknet is considering a move away from Ethereum to become a standalone Layer 1 network, targeting full quantum resistance by 2027.
Starknet is evaluating whether to leave Ethereum and operate as a standalone Layer 1 blockchain. The proposal targets 2027 and centers on building a fully quantum-resistant network.
StarkWare co-founder and CEO Eli Ben-Sasson discussed the potential shift with Camila Russo of The Defiant after Starknet outlined its intentions in a post on X.
Starknet says the transition could make it the first fully quantum-resistant network. For now, the move remains under consideration rather than a confirmed change to its architecture.
