Starknet Puts Possible Ethereum L2 Exit to STRK Holder Vote
Edited by Steinar Vigdel Kolnes, Editor, Oslo
Starknet is asking STRK holders whether to explore an independent blockchain amid concerns over Ethereum’s quantum-security upgrade timeline.

Starknet has opened a vote asking STRK holders whether the network should investigate a possible move away from its role as an Ethereum layer-2 blockchain.
The proposal concerns exploring a transition to an independent layer-1 network. The vote is not a decision to carry out that transition.
The stated aim is to reduce Starknet’s reliance on Ethereum’s timetable for quantum-security upgrades, potentially giving the network greater control over its own response to quantum risks.
