Starknet is weighing a move to an independent blockchain to pursue quantum security by 2027, according to The Defiant.
Starknet is considering a shift to a standalone Layer 1 blockchain as it explores quantum security with a 2027 target, The Defiant reported.
StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson said an independent network would give Starknet more control over security changes, removing the need to wait for Ethereum to make upgrades.
The move remains under consideration rather than a confirmed transition. The proposed approach would put greater responsibility for the timing of security upgrades in Starknet’s hands.
