Anza says Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade is set for Oct. 21, 2026, with developers projecting roughly 99% faster transaction finality.
Anza, a research and development firm focused on Solana, has announced that the network’s Alpenglow upgrade is scheduled to go live on Oct. 21, 2026.
The upgrade is intended to overhaul Solana’s consensus system. Developers and Solana documentation project that it will reduce the time needed to reach transaction finality by roughly 99%.
Finality marks the point at which a transaction is considered settled. The projected improvement remains an expectation ahead of the scheduled activation, rather than a measured result from the rollout.
