Solana Set to Launch Alpenglow Voting Overhaul Wednesday

Solana plans to activate Alpenglow on Wednesday, replacing its longstanding voting system and targeting transaction finality of about 150 milliseconds.
Solana is scheduled to introduce Alpenglow on Wednesday in what CoinDesk describes as the network’s largest overhaul since 2020.
The upgrade will replace the voting system Solana has relied on since that year. It aims to bring transaction finality to roughly 150 milliseconds.
The planned launch follows months of testing, including an unsuccessful migration that required a rollback. The finality target remains a goal rather than a confirmed live-network result.
