Solana Nears Final Step Toward 200-Millisecond Blocks
Solana is nearing the end of a seven-week effort to double its block production frequency, with higher costs and tighter operating windows for validators.

Solana is approaching the final stage of an upgrade aimed at cutting block times in half to 200 milliseconds, according to CoinDesk.
The change follows a seven-week effort to increase how frequently the network produces blocks. Once completed, blocks would be generated at twice the previous rate.
The faster schedule also brings operational trade-offs. Validators face increased costs and less time to carry out their work under the tighter block-production cycle.
