Singapore Gulf Bank has widened access to round-the-clock U.S. dollar settlement through BNY, including for eligible transfers on weekends and U.S. public holidays.
Singapore Gulf Bank has expanded its U.S. dollar settlement service through BNY, enabling qualifying payments to settle outside normal banking hours.
The service covers weekends and U.S. public holidays, periods when conventional banking schedules can otherwise delay dollar transfers. The availability applies to eligible payments, rather than necessarily all transactions.
For crypto markets, the development highlights an overlap between bank payment services and stablecoins. Moving dollar-denominated value beyond banking hours has been a key feature of stablecoins, and traditional banks are extending similar availability.
