Researchers Outline Privacy Design for Bitcoin Transfers
A proposed Shielded Bitcoin design would conceal transaction participants and amounts, while details on moving BTC into and out of the system remain unpublished.
Researchers have published a specification for Shielded Bitcoin, a proposed approach to private Bitcoin transfers, according to Decrypt.
The design aims to keep sender and recipient identities, as well as transfer amounts, hidden. Decrypt described the approach as similar to Zcash’s privacy model.
The specification does not yet explain how BTC would enter or leave the system. Those mechanisms are set to be addressed in a separate paper.
