Qubic Validators Halt Network After $1.3 Million Wallet Theft

A theft drained 1,404 Qubic wallets, with predictable seeds generated on older Apple devices and browsers cited as the suspected cause.

Qubic validators paused the network after an overnight theft took roughly 2.94 trillion QU, valued at $1.3 million, from 1,404 wallets, according to Bitcoin.com News.
The suspected weakness involved predictable wallet seeds generated by older Apple devices and browsers, rather than a flaw in the blockchain itself.
Most of the stolen tokens remained trapped on the halted network, while crypto exchange MEXC froze another portion. The report did not establish whether the affected users would recover their funds.
