The Quantum Alliance aims to develop shared security standards ahead of potential quantum threats to cryptocurrency wallet signatures.

Nine blockchain organizations have formed the Quantum Alliance to address potential security risks from quantum computing, according to Bitcoin.com News.
The coalition, launched this week, plans to develop shared security standards before quantum computers become powerful enough to break the digital signatures used to protect cryptocurrency wallets.
The report estimates that such advances could eventually place about 6.4 million bitcoin at risk, including roughly 1.1 million BTC linked to Satoshi Nakamoto. The threat described is a future possibility, not a reported breach.
