A Japanese court has granted another extension to Mt Gox’s repayment process, moving the deadline to October 2027 as some creditors continue to await their funds.

The deadline for Mt Gox creditor repayments has been pushed back by another year to October 2027, according to Bitcoin.com News.
A Japanese court granted the extension on October 16, 2026. The report describes it as the fourth extension in the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange’s rehabilitation process.
Mt Gox failed in 2014, leaving creditors facing a prolonged effort to recover their assets. Bitcoin worth billions of dollars remains tied up in the process, with some creditors still awaiting repayment.
