Ledger Reports Hidden LTE Implant in Suspected $86M Crypto Theft
Ledger says a concealed LTE implant captured wallet recovery phrases during setup without altering the Secure Element or its software.
Ledger has reported finding a hidden LTE implant linked to a suspected $86 million crypto theft, according to Decrypt.
The company says the implant captured the 24-word recovery phrase from the wallet’s screen as the device was being set up.
Ledger said the attack left both the Secure Element and its software unchanged, instead targeting the recovery phrase displayed during setup.
