Kazakhstan Court Bars Coinbase, Five Others From Unlicensed AIFC Services

Court injunctions target Coinbase and five other firms over unlicensed crypto services within the Astana International Financial Centre, not Kazakhstan as a whole.
A Kazakhstan court has barred Coinbase and five other firms from providing unlicensed cryptocurrency services in the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), according to CoinDesk.
The injunctions apply only to users within the AIFC. Their scope does not extend to users elsewhere in Kazakhstan.
The ruling is therefore limited to the financial centre rather than a nationwide prohibition on the six firms’ crypto services.
