Karpelès Flags Ledger Implant as CryptoBilis Warning Remains
Ledger says its Genuine Check cannot detect spying implants that leave the secure chip intact, a limitation that extends beyond a single reseller.

Mark Karpelès has flagged another implant involving a Ledger device, according to The Defiant. Ledger continues to carry a warning concerning CryptoBilis.
Ledger’s security documentation acknowledges that its Genuine Check does not identify spying implants when the device’s secure chip remains unaltered.
That limitation means passing Genuine Check does not rule out this type of hardware tampering. The issue is relevant to buyers beyond those purchasing through any particular reseller.
