A judge declined to reopen Gemini’s $5 million settlement, finding the CFTC’s changed enforcement priorities and misconduct allegations insufficient.

A judge has rejected the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s request to undo a $5 million settlement with crypto exchange Gemini, leaving the agreement in place.
The CFTC sought to revisit the deal amid a change in its enforcement priorities and allegations of misconduct involving its enforcement division.
The judge found those grounds insufficient to reopen the agreement, which Gemini had signed just weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial.
