Judge Keeps Gemini Settlement Restrictions in Place

A judge rejected a joint request by Gemini and the CFTC to lift settlement restrictions, leaving an injunction and limits on public denials intact.

A judge has denied a request from Gemini and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to remove restrictions tied to their settlement, according to The Defiant.
Gemini has paid the $5 million penalty required under the agreement. That payment does not change the restrictions left in place by the ruling.
The remaining terms include a permanent injunction and limits on Gemini publicly denying the case’s findings. Both continue to apply following the judge’s decision.
