Judge Denies Bid to Overturn Gemini’s $5M CFTC Settlement

A judge rejected a joint effort by the CFTC and Gemini to undo their January 2025 settlement, finding the arguments insufficient.

A judge has denied a request from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Gemini to overturn their $5 million settlement, according to Cointelegraph.
The agreement was reached in January 2025. The bid to reverse it cited a shift in the CFTC’s enforcement priorities and allegations of misconduct within its enforcement division.
The judge found that neither provided sufficient grounds to set aside the agreement. The ruling leaves the settlement in place.
