Japan’s Leading Yen Stablecoin Misses First-Year Target

A ¥1 million transaction limit has hindered corporate adoption of Japan’s leading yen stablecoin, according to CEO Noritaka Okabe.

Japan’s leading yen-denominated stablecoin ended its first year below target, CoinDesk reported.
CEO Noritaka Okabe attributed the shortfall to a rule limiting individual transactions by Type II funds transfer providers to ¥1 million.
Okabe said the cap has slowed adoption among corporate users, highlighting a regulatory constraint on the stablecoin’s business use.
