IMF: Most Tokenized Equity Trading Takes Place Outside Market Hours
The IMF says tokenized equity trading points to demand for 24-hour access, while market depth, liquidity and resilience remain challenges.

Most trading in tokenized equities occurs outside regular market hours, according to an IMF finding reported by The Defiant.
The fund says the activity reflects genuine demand for access beyond traditional trading sessions, supporting the case for round-the-clock availability.
However, the IMF cautions that developing markets with sufficient depth, reliable liquidity and resilience remains a challenge. Extended access alone does not resolve those issues.
