Fed Keeps Rates at 3.75%–4%; Bitcoin’s Brief Rise Fades
Edited by Steinar Vigdel Kolnes, Editor, Oslo
The Fed left rates at 3.75%–4% as Bitcoin surrendered a short-lived gain, while two officials favored a quarter-point increase.

The Federal Reserve kept its policy rate range at 3.75%–4%, according to The Defiant. Bitcoin gave up a brief advance as the decision drew attention.
Lisa Cook and Beth Hammack opposed the hold, preferring to raise rates by a quarter of a percentage point.
The split contrasted with September’s rate increase, which received unanimous support. This time, the two dissenters backed further tightening rather than leaving borrowing costs unchanged.
