Ethereum Postpones Glamsterdam Test After Contract Security Concerns
Edited by Steinar Vigdel Kolnes, Editor, Oslo
Ethereum developers canceled Glamsterdam’s Oct. 26 Hoodi testnet activation after researchers flagged a flaw potentially affecting 13 deployed contracts.

Ethereum developers have delayed the Glamsterdam upgrade’s activation on the Hoodi testnet following the discovery of a security flaw. The rollout had been scheduled for Oct. 26.
Security researchers at Chainsecurity identified 13 deployed smart contracts whose behavior could leave them vulnerable. The flaw could cause a temporary contract failure to become a permanent loss of functionality.
The canceled testnet activation raises uncertainty over Ethereum’s tentative December mainnet upgrade window. The source report did not provide a replacement testing date.
