ENSv2 Proposal Would End New ENSv1 Registrations
A proposal to activate ENSv2 would stop new ENSv1 registrations while leaving existing .eth holders without a migration deadline, The Defiant reports.

A proposal for ENSv2 activation would close ENSv1 to new registrations, according to The Defiant. The change remains a proposed step rather than a completed rollout.
Existing .eth holders would not face a deadline to migrate. The proposal therefore distinguishes between ending new registrations on ENSv1 and requiring current holders to move.
ENS Labs would also transfer its remaining ENSv2 administrative roles to the DAO, placing those responsibilities under DAO control as part of the proposed transition.
