DTC Proposes Faster Share-Registration Transfers With API Overhaul
DTC is seeking to shorten share-registration transfers from days to minutes by replacing batch processing with APIs and automating a transfer step.

DTC has proposed changes to its Direct Registration System (DRS) aimed at reducing share-registration transfer times from several days to minutes, according to The Defiant.
The planned overhaul would use application programming interfaces, or APIs, instead of batch processing. It would also automate one step in the transfer process.
Transfer agents would still need to approve transfers under the proposal. The shorter processing window is a goal of the planned changes, rather than a reported result.
