Character.AI is seeking a buyer in Delaware bankruptcy proceedings, with Disney bidding $20 million, according to Decrypt.
Character.AI has filed for bankruptcy and is being offered for sale through a Delaware court, according to Decrypt. Disney has submitted a $20 million bid for the chatbot app.
The company previously reached a $1 billion valuation. The bankruptcy filing comes roughly two weeks after it introduced new models.
Decrypt also reports that users are being directed to grief resources. If the sale process fails to produce a buyer, the app will close.
