Edited by Steinar Vigdel Kolnes, Editor, Oslo
Canada is inviting public feedback on proposed stablecoin rules covering reserve assets, consumer safeguards and regulatory oversight.

Canada is seeking public input on a proposed regulatory framework for stablecoin issuers, with requirements addressing reserves, consumer protection and supervision.
The proposals appeared in the Canada Gazette on Oct. 24. They are intended to put Canada’s Stablecoin Act into effect as the country develops broader rules for digital currencies.
The consultation comes as the United States prepares to implement the GENIUS Act, placing stablecoin regulation on the policy agenda in both countries.
