BlackRock has filed for a Bitcoin ETF designed to cushion losses through options on IBIT while limiting potential gains.

BlackRock has filed for the iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF, a proposed fund that would offer limited downside protection in exchange for reduced upside exposure.
The strategy would use options tied to IBIT, BlackRock’s existing Bitcoin ETF, to help limit losses. That protection would come at the cost of some potential gains.
The filing comes as IBIT attracted $665 million in a single day, according to Decrypt. The proposed fund would add a risk-managed approach alongside BlackRock’s existing Bitcoin offering.
