Bitcoin fell nearly 2% ahead of Strategy’s third-quarter results, leaving its holdings worth about 6% more than their purchase cost.

Bitcoin hovered near $80,000 after declining almost 2% ahead of Strategy’s third-quarter earnings report.
The pullback narrowed the gap between the value of Strategy’s bitcoin holdings and the amount it spent acquiring them. The coins were worth roughly 6% above their purchase cost.
Strategy is the largest corporate holder of bitcoin. The decline leaves the company with a smaller unrealized gain on its holdings as it prepares to report results.
