Bitcoin Core Revises Bug Disclosure Policy as AI Speeds Discovery
Edited by Steinar Vigdel Kolnes, Editor, Oslo
Bitcoin Core developers will fast-track fixes and releases for easily discoverable flaws, reflecting the risk that AI can help attackers identify them quickly.

Bitcoin Core is changing its security policy to accelerate responses to vulnerabilities that attackers could readily uncover using AI, according to Decrypt.
For flaws classified as easily discoverable, developers will backport fixes to earlier software versions and issue releases immediately rather than maintain lengthy embargoes.
The change addresses bugs that an attacker could identify with a single AI prompt, reducing the time developers can rely on those vulnerabilities remaining undiscovered.
