A Polish Academy of Sciences platform identified four previously unknown enantioselective reactions in 30 days, with researchers defining its scope and verifying the products.

An autonomous laboratory platform at the Polish Academy of Sciences identified four previously unknown enantioselective chemical reactions during a 30-day run.
The platform used reinforcement learning to assess experimental results and select subsequent tests. That process allowed it to adjust its search based on findings from earlier experiments.
Researchers defined the range of experiments the system could explore and confirmed the resulting products. The findings therefore combined automated experimentation with human oversight.
The work was described in Nature Communications on October 13, 2026, according to Bitcoin.com News.
